Akanksha Charitable Trust (ACT), established in 2014, is dedicated to creating equal opportunities for children and youth from disadvantaged backgrounds who lack access to quality education and dignified livelihood pathways. Rooted in the belief that education is the foundation for long-term social transformation, ACT works to bridge educational and skill gaps prevalent among rural communities in Karnataka.
Recognizing the socio-economic challenges faced by rural schoolchildren in India, ACT began its journey as a collective of like-minded individuals inspired by the belief that “knowledge never decreases by being shared.” Guided by this philosophy, the Trust has consistently focused on empowering students and young people through inclusive, community-driven initiatives.
Over the years, ACT has reached more than 25,000 rural students and youth across five districts of Karnataka, supported by a committed network of 250+ volunteers. Its interventions include interactive science learning programmes, counselling and motivational sessions led by eminent personalities for government school students, the impACT-30 leadership programme implemented across nine districts, skill-enhancement initiatives for youth, and emergency response efforts such as the COVID Help Centre during the pandemic.
Since 2022, ACT has partnered with the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (RDPR) Department, Government of Karnataka, to strengthen foundational skills across 110+ Gram Panchayats through Arivu Kendras. This innovative and scalable model has been formally recognized by the Hon’ble Minister for Panchayat Raj and ITBT, Government of Karnataka, for its impact and community relevance.

ACT continues to stand by its core belief that true and lasting change is achieved by empowering individuals with knowledge, confidence, and opportunity—thereby enabling them to build a more equitable and resilient society.
